Every year we go to Island Park for a reunion. It is a lot of fun. We usually camp at Buttermilk but this year Caralyn was able to get a cabin because of my Aunt Perk. It was a really really nice cabin. My dad and Rory still brought their trailers up as there wasn't enough room for everyone to sleep. We went up Friday morning and had a blast. We took the jet skis and boats out on the water. Rick had his boat and Lynn and Allen had their boat. At first I went with Ryan and Hope on the jet ski. We were looking for the boat. Hope was not happy and did not want to go. Once we convinced her there were no sharks in the water she was game. We looked for an hour for them and finally found them. i didn't mind I was having a blast on the jet ski. Once we found them Hope got in the boat, Kade skied for a while then we went and had lunch. My dad decided he was going to try the jet ski, he was so funny he wouldn't give it gas, you pretty much have to lay on the gas to get it to move, he insisted it wasn't working, once we convinced him to give it gas away he went and had a ball. It is great at 72 he still plays with us. We then jet skied and played until almost dark. Went back to the cabin and dinner had been fixed. Dutch oven chicken and potatoes. yum Yum. Time to eat,sit around the campfire, let the kids roast smores, go to bed and get up the next morning. Of course we love to eat so there was a huge breakfast my dad, Rory and Allen cooked. Out to the lake we go again. We were there about half a day then it was cold and the water was choppy. About 3 we decided to go float Box Canyon. Got all the tubes and raft ready and we were off. Rich went with us this time, he didn't go out on the boat he was worried it would have hurt his back, so he stayed back and had some relaxing time. We were both so relaxed and needed to get away so bad. It was wonderful. We had Hope-5, Kaycee-3 Tessa-2 Trey-5 Tymber, Caralyn, Josh, Lori, Kylee, Autumn Rich and I floating. We got there and dang the water was COLD. Really really cold. Trey was freaking out, not much we can do we are in a canyon rock walls both sides pretty much on the river for 1.5 hours. He was in the raft with Rich. It starts to rain a little and lightning .Oops. All in all even though it was cold it still was a lot of fun. It is a pretty mellow float and beautiful. Back to the cabin to get warm and dinner was cooked again (haha) this time dutch oven roast that was to die for. Yummy
Hope decided she was going to tube herself. I offered to get on with her and she would not let me. We let her go by herself. My fearless fred. I don't think she liked it as much as when the other kids were with her but she didn't complain. Of course we went really slow with her. You can see by the pure joy on Tymbers face how much she enjoyed it. I loved the jet-ski. I finally got up the guts to ride it myself. Wow it was a blast. I was so so sore after and have bruises. i am still a little sore 4 days later but it was so worth it.
I am blessed to have the family that I do and am so glad we got to go relax and get away from everything for a few days.
