good-bye 2013

This year has sure been a whirl wind. Each year goes faster and faster it seems. Autumn graduated in May worked full-time all summer, met Jaron in July, left for college in Sept. got engaged in November, turned 19 in December, finished her first semester of college in December, and moved back home.

Tymber joined CAP in February and loves it so much. I have never seen her embrace anything so much or been so enthusiastic about anything. She really feels like she fits in and has met some great friends even though most of the time she is the only girl. She finished 8th grade in May (barely) had a summer full of CAP activities worked her butt off with selling tickets to a fundraiser for  CAP and managed to earn $150.00 on her own to attend encampment for 9 days in July in Boise. She had also gone to another weekend CAP retreat in Coeur d'Alene. She was in the fourth of July parade, helped set up and participate in the Field of Heroes Memorial weekend also does weekly meetings and other various training's. She is learning search and rescue techniques. We were told the first few days of encampment were brutal and she would hate it. Not true she loved every minute of it. I worried all week about her. She cried when she had to leave and is looking forward to this coming summer. She turned 15 in July and started her Freshman year of High School. She is having some struggles with school and we have contemplated home-school. She has been doing a little better this trimester. She also has been struggling with panic attacks and we have started counseling to help her learn techniques to deal with her fears and issues with her being bullied. Shes an amazing person and struggles but has a heart of gold.

Hope finished second grade and started third. She loves school and excels in it. She also started gymnastics in the fall and loves it so much. She is growing like crazy and is super fun loving and loves to be outside.

Rich has and still is having a lot of back issues. We began to see a pain specialist in hopes that he can get some relief. He went to one Dr. did an MRI and 2 epidural injections with little relief. The Dr. retired and we got in with another pain specialist. They decided to try burning his nerves in his back. He had to have 2 very painful injections 2 separate weeks before the insurance would pay for the nerve burning. with the injections giving him some relief we had hopes the burning would work. He had it done in November and was in considerable pain while the nerves die it  can take up to six weeks. Unfortunately the nerve burning has not worked and he is in more pain most days then before we started it all. It is extremely frustrating we have wasted so much time and money for no relief. He also hates his job but we don't many options right now.

I am just working and running the kids around and keeping the house going and trying to help him as much as I can. I also started my third year of college in September. It has been a busy year.  Although some exciting things have happened it hasn't been a great year. We have some big changes happening in the next several months to begin 2014. A wedding in March, my parents getting sealed in March, and some other decisions Rich and I have made that will not be easy to face for any of us. I won't get into it now but 2014 probably won't be fun. Oh well we will survive and come out hopefully stronger and better.
