The night we were doing freezer meals my brother Rory called about 7:30 and told me he had taken my mom to the hospital. My dad had hernia surgery earlier that day and couldn't drive. I guess she was sitting in her chair getting ready to read on her Kindle and she ended up with a super bad headache and chest pain. My dad watched her for a while and was going to call an ambulance but my mom wanted a blessing. He called Rory and he came over. He also called Rick. When Rory got there he decided she needed to go to the Er so he loaded her up and took her over. When Rory called they were running tests but my mom was feeling better. This was on a Thursday. I was really torn about driving the hour to be there and having a mess on my hands from cooking. Rory said there wasn't much to be done to just wait and he would call me back. After a while he called and said her MRI came back good. There was no sign of a stroke or brain bleed. The Dr. Said there was something with the EKG but they wanted to keep her and observe her and see where they were at tomorrow. Rory told me he would stay with her and Rick would take my dad home with them just to wait until morning. Friday I took Hope to school, called in sick, and Tym and I left for Idaho Falls. I had spoken with Caralyn earlier and my dad was in quite a bit of pain from his surgery and being at the hospital until midnight with my mom. We decided he really needed to stay home and rest. I took Tymber over there to help him and make sure he stayed down. By the time I got to the hospital they had already done one stress test on my mom and needed to repeat it in a few hours. Rory left to go get some sleep and I stayed with my mom. They ran another test and we waited and waited and waited for the dr to come in. Finally around 6 Rick and Caralyn showed up and Rory was back. We left Rory there and went to get dinner. While we were gone the dr. Finally showed up and said she had a minor heart attack and they were going to do an angiogram in the morning. I stayed with my mom that night and we left Tymber with my dad. At this point my mom was feeling fine. It was a long night. As normal nurses don't let you sleep or rest much in the hospital. The next morning Rory showed up with my dad and Tym about 8 and Rick and Caralyn shortly after. About 9 they took my mom in for her test. Its where they run a wore through your vein up to your heart and we were told if there was any blockage they would put a stint in immediately if needed. We all went down to the ICU waiting room. Rich and Hope showed up and so did Kade and Kylee. Rich was coming to get Tymber for swimming. On a side note I have to say it was really really nice having him there. It seems like I have had to do so many things on my own for the past 4 years because of his back I didn't realize what a big deal and relief it was for me when he showed up. The Dr. Came out and told us everything looked great. He said there was no obstruction at all and she didn't have a heart attack. They then took us in the procedure roo and showed us the whole procedure that they had recorded and he said her heart was so healthy she would never need to worry about heart problems. My moms family has a huge history of heart issues. He told my dad he would be up in a few hours to release her. This was a different Dr. From the day before it was his partner. I was so exhausted I had slept a total of 4 hours in 48 hours. I decided to go home. My brother waited for a while..no doctor..finally he went and got my dad at 6 who had been at the hospital all day. The dr never bothered showing up. Unbelievable. So my mom.spent her third night in the hospital. Finally Sunday around 2 they released her. Rick and Caralyn went and got her. She was so happy to be home. The following Friday my mom had an appt with the heart doctor...the one who admitted her and seen her first...he said she did have a minor heart attack and has put her on a blood thinner. He thinks she may have had a blood clot.
The night she was in the ER Kade and Rory gave her a blessing. She told me from the time.of the blessing she felt at peace and that everything was going to be fine. The night I stayed with her she told me it was in God's hands. I informed her God couldn't have her because we weren't done with her yet...on the way home from the hospital I was talking to Hope about it because I didn't want her to be scared...she told me...I wasn't worried mom I prayed and the Holy Ghost told me she would be fine. I found it uplifting both my mom and Hope were told she would be okay. Especially because Hope never knew about my mom's blessing.
