Autumn had to bring a baby home over the weekend for parenting classes. They are like "real" babies, they cry and you have to change them, feed them, burp them, etc. The baby wakes up in the middle of the night as well. Autumn wears a charm on her wrist and when the baby starts to fuss she has to run the charm on the back of the baby to activate it and show she isn't neglecting the baby. She has to respond within 1-2 minutes or it marks her as child abuse. A few times the charm would not activate and the baby gets louder and louder with her cries. She has to take her everywhere, including church. She weighs about eight pounds and you have to support the neck like a newborn.
Autumn named her Brilynn I think. Friday she had to attend a YW meeting then we went to the store. She said the baby was really good through the whole meeting so I knew as soon as we walked into the store we were in for it. We put the baby in the cart, in her car-seat. Walked in the door, yep she begins to cry. Autumn took her out and wow the dirty looks we received because they thought it was Autumns baby and she sounds so real. Autumn had to walk around the store with her bottle, feeding her. Then it was time to burp. Because the baby is plastic when you pat her on the back it is really really LOUD.It sounded like Autumn was really hitting this baby hard, and the baby was crying to top it off. I couldn't help it I was laughing really hard. Now people are downright staring at us. I can only imagine what they thought. This older gentleman started following us and then he got a glimpse of the baby and could see it was a doll. Then he had to comment on how he thought it was real, we explained it was for a class at school. This little girl kept pointing to the baby and saying look mom she has a baby really loud. The lady gave us super dirty looks. We also ran into a lady Autumn babysits for, who is pregnant, she had her 3 year old cutie Capri with her, Capri thought it was really funny and had to help Autumn feed the baby in the middle of the store.
Friday night she did really well. I was afraid Autumn would be up all night with her because one of her friends took a baby last weekend and the baby cried like 4 hours solid in the middle of the night. Autumn had to get up at 2 A.M. for about 45 minutes, then again at 7 A.M. The baby will only accept its bottle if Autumn is rocking or walking around. HAHA. She also coo's at you when she is happy.
more later....
