First off I should be working but my computer is against me today so I had to take the rest of the day off (what a shame) after wasting most of my morning. So I figured I would do something useful like blog, better to be productive then do something unproductive like clean house or laundry.
Anyways I really like to hear myself talk, I have come to this important conclusion because it must be true. I talk and talk and talk and yell and get mad and guess what NOBODY listens to me. Yep that is right nobody can hear me. My kids have air between their ears I think. Well, right now just the oldest but that tends to change on a daily basis. Autumn gets her report card and what do I see but a C- in Math ok I can deal with a C- because she really has a tough time with Math and I hate math so I "get it" even though I am just a mom & she thinks I don't understand. Not going to bust her chops about the C- UNTIL I get the progress report from her teacher later that night telling me she has 11 count the 11 missing assignments in this one class. What?Excuse me? 11 missing assignments what the crap. So her and I have come to this great understanding, you see if she has any missing assignments this quarter in any classes her social life, that she thinks so highly of is going to end for the remaining quarter. Yep that is right, the "mean mom" is going to show up. I am writing this down because I know she will read it and even though she doesn't hear me talk she can see me write. (Sorry Autumn) (okay not really) On the other hand she got all A's and B's in the rest of her classes so WAY to Go. Oh and while I am on it she also has a 15.00 fine in the school library for a book she didn't return, what is the book you ask, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.... Ummm hello we OWN that book so why she felt like she needed to check it out and then basically I ended up buying it again with her overdue fines because she didn't want to turn it in on time... Hmmm looks like some extra jobs need done around here.. You know I love you Autumn.
Tymber had a great report card also All A's & B's. Great job Tater bug.
On to other things my nephew Jake got married today to Arli, they met at BYU she is from New Jersey and is so cute. They make a great couple. So congrats to Jake & Arli. They got married in the Washington Dc temple. I am sure it was just crazy as it is the week of the inauguration. I know Lorie had a horrible time finding lodging for them & paid dearly for it. They will have a reception here on Feb.13th after they return from their honeymoon. What a great time for them to go on a cruise we got about 6" of snow last night. Blech

You make me laugh! What a great way to communicate with a teenager. Maybe that is the way she will "hear" / "read" you and know you mean it. I think it is great... Oh the joys of missing assignments --- Yes, I went through that with Jason -- arrrgghhh is all I can say about that! As a mom, you gotta do what you gotta do. Autumn!!! What are you thinking?? You are smarter then not turning in assignments!!
However, way to go on the rest of your report card...
TOTALLY "Woo hoo"!!!!! Tymber... That is wonderful.. I am very proud of you!!
BTW -- $15 in library fines?? Boy... I guess some chores need to be done... I would be a steaming mom!!! Good thing I'm not your Mom!!
Love you all!!
I'm sure that she will listen because you are now using her currency - her social life - as a punishment. She'll learn to either turn in her assignments OR live without a social life. Keep us updated on her progress.
