Katina and Josh Lopez wedding

My Uncle Dan and Aunt Angela, their daughter Katina got married New Years Day
1-1-11. There wedding was Greek, held at the Greek Orthodox Church in Pocatello. Her wedding dress was stunning. I was not able to get very many good pictures. The ceremony itself lasted about 90 minutes. I was glad Autumn and Tymber were there to experience the religion and culture. When Dan and Angela were married the whole wedding was spoken in Greek. this one was spoken in English for the most part. It was a long ceremony but they handed out a paper that told what the symbolisms meant. The Priest had a sense of humor, after the ceremony part he spoke for a little bit and said there were 3 rings to a marriage, the engagement ring, the wedding ring, and suffering. After the wedding the reception and dinner was at the Red Lion. We went and they had a cocktail room set up where you could get drinks, alcoholic and non. Then we were escorted into dinner. By now it as about 7:00 and the wedding started at 4:30. Angela's sister Maria was the Mistress of Ceremony. She pretty much designed the whole wedding, if you know Angela and her Greek sisters nothing was done half way, the Bridesmaid dresses were stunning, the reception was stunning, there was an ice sculpture, buffet dinner, Greek deserts, dancing, a cake that matched the invitations, and it goes on and on. The dinner was a Greek dinner with Pork and other Greek dishes. I didn't care much for the food but it was okay. We did not get home until almost 10:00 pm. It was along day but fun to experience, see people I have not seen for a very long time, meet some new people, and just have the opportunity to experience the culture.

Oh...I missed you all. I was sooo jealous that Phaedra & Orion got to come with my mom & dad! I have these distant memories of Dan & Angela's beautiful wedding & so would have enjoyed seeing Katina's. I can only imagine what a beautiful affair it must have been!

Katie Orion is such a doll. I wanted to bring him home. Everyone loved him, and Phaedra is a delight. I really like her a lot. I wish you could have been there as well.
