drawing blood= passing out

Autumn hasn't felt good for about 4 weeks. It has been coming and going but she asked me to take her to the Dr. I knew she really didn't feel good if she wanted to go to the Dr. She has had a sore throat off and on, swollen lymph nodes in her neck, and her stomach has hurt. I thought she had a sinus infection after Christmas so I thought she still might have crap draining into her throat or strep. We get to the clinic and they told me her throat looked horrible, really red and irritated. We also told the Dr. about the other symptoms and she said it might be mono as well. Crap. So they did a strep test -negative- then decided to do a mono test so they took her to the lab to draw blood. She got really sick after they drew the blood and passed out cold. Once she came to they had her lay down and were commenting how white she was, even her lips were as white as a piece of paper. They got her some juice and had me put a cloth on her head. Then I passed out. Yep I passed out, talk about feeling stupid. I guess I passed out on top of her and they laid me on the floor. What a support system I am. It wasn't even the blood that got to me, it was seeing her so helpless and sick. This poor guy was in the room also getting his blood drawn along with his wife. They had their excitement for the day.
Once we both felt better they put her in a wheelchair and took her back to the exam room. She was shaking pretty hard, I think she was still in shock so they brought her a blanket and the test results. Yep she has mono. Just great. It is airborne so she could have picked it up anywhere. She said a kid in one of her classes had it a while ago. Basically it just has to run its course as it is a virus. They told her to get a lot of rest, plenty of fluid and not to play contact sports because it enlarges the spleen and can cause it to rupture. I am pretty sure she has had it for a while and is not running a fever so the Dr. said she can return to school... The best part is I am sure I have it also. I have all the symptoms she does, plus she drinks my water all the time. I wouldn't be surprised if Rich has it as well, his stomach has been upset lately but we thought it was some medicine his Dr. had him on. Tymber was complaining of a sore throat a few days ago. Good times at the Murray house.
