Hope and the dentist
Hope has had a hard time with her teeth for a while. Even though we brush and floss she has had some cavities that have resulted in some infection and a few abscessed teeth. On her left side her 2 back molars were causing her pain and there were always puss pockets on her gums (I know gross) I finally took her to a pediatric dentist and she told me we needed to remove the teeth (baby). The infection was beginning to attack her bones and they were worried it would have a permanent effect on her permanent teeth. So we had 2 of them pulled in Dec. She did really well and one of her permanent molars is already coming in. We also discussed removing the other 2 molars on her right side. Same problem. I took her in today and asked if we could keep them for now as she hasn't been complaining, but after the dentist showed me how much infection after pushing on the gums we decided it was best to remove them as well. I feel like such a bad mom she has so many problems. This time it didn't go as well and she has been pretty miserable tonight. The dentist and staff are really good and they are trained in pediatric, but she is miserable. They put a spacer in today and she is not happy. She hates the feel of it in her mouth. I know in a few days she will be used to it and everything will be okay. Mommy guilt is not fun.

Man, I hope she feels better soon. Faith is going to have to have a gum graft, but we have not told her because we don't want her to worry about it.
