Baptism-Temple trip

A few weeks ago we took the youth to Baptism for the dead at the Temple. It was a little interesting. I did not have a limited recommend for Tymber because she was supposed to run in a cross country meet that day, so I did not get hers renewed. The weather was nasty, snow, rain, etc. so they cancelled her meet. I hurried and called the Bishop, he was out of town so he told me to call his first counselor. I could not get a hold of him. I told her to get dressed and we would go over to the church because I knew one of his counselors would be with us that night. We got there and found out the one counselor had a meeting and could not attend and the other one was going to be late and probably drive down, if he made it at all. With a heavy heart I told Tymber she would have to miss it. I was so upset with myself for making sure she was not better prepared and had the recommend anyway. We watched everyone load onto the bus and I was almost ready to take her home when the counselor showed at the last minute. I ran and asked him if he could do a quick interview, he said his book was at home but he would be more than willing to interview her and we would just have to drive down. Then they told us they would hold the bus for us, we still had plenty of time. Heavenly Father was really looking out for her and telling her she needed to be there. I was so humbled and grateful.

We had a lot of names that night that ward members had provided. I also had about 4 names that Richards cousin had sent his mom a while ago. Most of them were male names so I had not got them done yet. One name was a female. They handed out the names at the Temple and although neither of my girls got the female I was in the Baptismal font area handing out towles when her name came through. The death date was in the 1700's. I had this overwhelming SHOUT in my head " THANK YOU, I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS" I was so happy to know she was on the other side accepting her ordinances. When i got home I told Autumn about it and she shared her experience with me. She was in the room where they were doing confirmations, when the girl that was being confirmed for her Autumn heard her name and had such an amazing peace come over her and said she she just began smiling and almost crying because she could FEEL this spirit and the happiness the spirit felt.

I have such gratitude for the Temple and the work that is done there. I am grateful that my girls love the service of Baptism for the dead. I have had many spiritual experiences in the Temple and the blessings of serving others for our Heavenly Father is amazing! I have also learned an important lesson to make sure my girls always have their limited use temple recommend, as long as they are worthy to hold one. I will do my best as their mother to teach them and guide them in the importance of staying worthy to hold that recommend so that when the time comes they may receive ALL of the BLESSINGS the temple holds, including being married in the Temple and sealed to their spouse and children.

That is a great experience. Mom had names for you? Wow! I'm glad it worked out for Tymber. What a blessing!
