I went to Parent Teacher Conference at Autumn and Tymber's schools. Autumns was the same stuff I always here, how wonderful she is, how well she does, what a great student, I had one teacher tell me she is a breath of fresh air. Solid A's except math. No surprise there. She is getting a C in Math. She really does not like the teacher. Her teacher told me maybe if she paid attention a little more and not talk so much or try to do her work in class she may understand it more. Oops
Tymbers PT conference was AMAZING.! I have never been to school and heard such great things about my child. Except with Mrs. B (we love you). The charter school has been the best choice ever for her. She is getting 3 A's 1 B 1 C 1 D in Math and 1 F. The F is because she didn't understand she was supposed to turn 20 vocabulary words in each week of her choice with a definition, words she has never heard. He said as soon as she starts turning the words in her grade will quickly raise. The Math grade did not surprise me at all. After speaking to her teacher we came to the conclusion she is in the wrong math class. The school teaches Math a little different then the regular school. Basically everyone that took math there last year and is in 7th grade is considered a 8th grade math level, if she was attending the regular school. But she didn't go to charter school last year and she failed math last year. So we bumped her down to the the lower math class. She came home yesterday telling me how much she loves the new teacher and how she is understanding it! I was pretty excited. What a wonderful ego booster and confidence booster. Teachers telling me how wonderful, witty, and charming she is. Telling me how funny she is and how much they enjoy her. Both of us were glowing by the time we were finished. It is so nice not having her lie to me about missing assignments or about homework. She comes home, does her homework and has NO missing assignments!
As much as I struggled with the decision of charter school I am so grateful she is going to it. She is hoping they will build a high school so she can continue her education with this school.
I am also getting both girls a Math tutor. My visiting teacher Sara has told me she is willing to tutor the girls. Best part it is FREE! Well for me, I am having the girls trade babysitting in exchange for her tutoring them. It will do the girls good to pay there own way plus the benefit of math.
She probably will be tutoring me as well. I just started a math class in college and wow it is kicking my butt bad. So far Rich and Autumn are helping me but even Rich is having a rough time understanding it. The sad thing is it is only Pre Algebra. I feel stupid.

Wow! That is fantastic! I'm glad everyone is doing so well in school. That is also awesome that you get to trade for tutor lessons in math. You are very blessed! I'm thrilled that Tymber is loving school :-D
Math is very difficult for me too. The worse is that Faith is bringing home stuff that I can do, but they do it a different type of way than I learned it. I'm glad that everyone is doing so well ... continue the hard work!
