Pie failure

I'm a pumpkin pie failure. The day before Thanksgiving Rich and I needed to make some pies. I told Lorie we would take 4 pies to her house and we always cook a few for here because we make our own turkey the day after Thanksgiving.

     Rich works hard to make the crusts. The first 2 pumpkin pies I forgot to add the eggs. maybe this wouldn't have been such a big deal but I also ruined pies last year and Rich specifically told me to make sure I added everything. We had to throw them away. We had the next set of pies in and oh my heck i didn't add the sugar. Talk about a ticked off husband. I felt stupid. So we ended up throwing four pumpkin pies away. The apple turned out good. We made two other pumpkin that turned out fine. Thursday morning we decided to make 3 more pies because of Hopes love for pumpkin pie and i wanted to leave 2 here. We made 2 pumpkin and one cherry. I left the pumpkin on the table to cool put the dogs in the kennel and left the house.

Neiko can get out of our 6' kennel and we have no clue how he manages it. We had him in there in Blackfoot and never had an issue but came home one day a few weeks ago and he was out. I left the back door cracked in case he could get out again and when we came home Koda was in the kennel crying and Neiko was sitting in the house thumping his tail all excited to see us. Guess who had pumpkin pie while we were gone. Yep the bugger ate a whole pie. Thank goodness he was nice enough to leave us one. Also I guess its a good thing Hope and Rich are the only ones who like pumpkin pie.

So we made 4 apple pies
1 Cherry
and 8 pumpkin pies out of that we threw away 5 pies. How pitiful is that.

Oh well maybe we will have better luck at Christmas.
